Republicans Target Fed. Step Increases and Retirement

Talking Points Memo got their hands on the Republican wish list for the deficit-cutting Super Committee. Among the proposed cuts were the elimination of periodic step increases for federal employees and increasing the employee share of the Federal Retirement System for both existing and new employees. Another proposal goes even further, calling for the elimination of the federal retirement system for all new hires.
