Does anyone know where I can get a list of all bilingual and immersion schools (and the languages they teach) in DC?
Thanks! |

| The charter school board website will miss DCPS schools. I think the only bilingual/immersion public school is Oyster-Adams, but I'm not sure. |

There are a bunch (6? 8?) of DCPS elementary schools with Spanish/English instruction. This page listing them is down, though.

Most of these schools offer Spanish. The exceptions are, Yu Ying, which offers Chinese and Stokes, which offers French or Spanish.
Stokes starts at 3 Yu Ying starts at 4. Stokes often has lots of spots for Kindergarten because the class size doubles at that point (3 and 4 are combined, so only half a class moves up from PK each year). So, for those of you interested in bilingual ed, who have kindergarteners, Stokes is a good option. |
| We're loving Mundo Verde pcs, Spanish dual immersion. |
| What are the chances of starting a new Chinese school in DC? |
| Not sure what you mean by "chances"? Charter law allows you to put a proposal together and try to get it approved-I haven't seen a saturated by immersion schools already as a reason for non approval. |
| New Yu Ying parent, extremely happy with the school! |
| PP sounds like a YY administrator trying to toot its own horn. |
How is 17:19 any different than 13:17 (except that the former is the hated YY, of course)? |
| Another new YY parent of a preker: our kid loves the school and is learning Chinese. Very happy with the school. |
