Who's in charge over there at the GOP?
Apparently the Dems are not willing to be the stand-ins for the Tea Partiers who would rather shut down the government than support their own leader. So now the government could shut down by the end of the month over this? Guess the Dems have some cards to play, because Boehner does not control the majority anymore. |
It's Obama's fault. I have no idea why, but someone will be along shortly to tell us.
|
Dems will cave and do whatever Tp'er tell them to do. |
There is a caucus of tea party Republicans who have districts that think the government is evil and they want to cause trouble. These congress people gain voters every time they cause chaos. |
Great. Either Tea Partiers lose this one, or they get blamed for shutting down the government. Dems are not backing down on this one. TP only gets to play the mad dog card once. |
The Tea Partiers think that a government shutdown is the impetus needed for the bourgeoisie to rise up and rebel against the chains of the lumpenproletariat.
Exploiters of the world, unite! |
I doubt they know what the lumpenproletariat is. They'll be scratching their heads saying "are they the good guys or the bad guys?" You might have to simplify it into something they respond to, like "black people and immigrants". |
Not saying it's impossible, but I would never bet on the Reid or Obama having backbone and principles. The only thing that makes it somewhat more likely that they'll hold ground now is that they may see a political advantage. |
Because the bottom line was even higher than the previous bill. It wasn't all TP who didn't vote for it. Fiscal conservatives had been telling leadership all week they weren't going to vote yes. He didn't listen and though he could get more Dems to vote yes on it too. He was wrong. |
