Does anybody know how to interpret MAP-M scores ?
|
We haven't received MAP-M scores from our DC's teacher. When/how did you get them? Is it something you have to specifically ask for or do the teachers just send you the info.
Also, do these tests start in 3rd grade (or are they also given to 2nd graders)? Thanks. |
Actually, we learned about it from our DC. He is in second grade.

I posted about map-m scores at the end of last year when I got them for my 3rd grader. There doesn't seem to be too much info. All the responses thought I was referring to map-r. I think it may be a new additional to the mcps test collection. |
So, you mean the teacher tells the kids how they did? That seems kind of strange, no? |
I don't know if the teacher told them or if their score appear on the screen (apparently they take it on the computer).
I would guess it is the latter. |
I posted this on the MAP-R thread but it also has MAP-M percentile info:
I don't believe the 2011 version is available yet, but beginning on page 127 of the following report are the MAP RIT score-to-percentile conversions for the various MAP tests for beginning, middle and end year testings. http://pickens.it.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/h...d1e9266e4482d198ebc39c6e6bc9c3 From what I know tests are given three times a year to assess kids' learning progression. They don't count toward their grades. Their scores appear on the screen after they take the test so that's how we know what our kid's score was. |
