| Anyone know if any movie theaters in upper NW or lower MoCo host birthday parties for kids? |
|
I've always assumed it's prohibitively expensive for just a private movie showing, but the Silver Theater in downtown Silver SPring lets you rent their theaters.

Also if you don't mind putting out a bunch of cash out at once, you can actually buy a projector and big screen for outdoor (and obviously indoor if you have room) viewing. A friend has a neighbor that has one - they bust it out for block parties all the time. I've seen it in SkyMall magazines, and i"m sure you can do a search for outdoor projection TV and you'll find tons. |

| Obvious answer is: http://www.americancitydiner.com/party.html |
| The Majestic in Silver Spring also has birthday party packages, and will set up a roped-off table for your party before or after the movie for cake etc. |
| How old are the kids? With kids in upper elementary grades and middle-schoolers you can catch a movie at Regal Bethesda (on Wisconsin Ave), then walk to a restaurant -- e.g., Vapiano, Five Guys, Sweet Green. My DD has been to parties at all those places where the parents brought in cupcakes for dessert. |
| I don't know that area, but I would start by calling newer theaters. DS has been to a movie theater party where the theater had a party room for before/after the movie. I just dropped off so I don't know the details. It was scheduled around a regular showing of a kid's movie. |
| Also instead of buying the outdoor projector and inflatable screen there are several companies that will rent, set up , and take down the entire system all in your backyard for about $300. Granted you need to have decent sized backyard without too much light pollution. |
| there is regal majestic, too, in downtown silver spring |
