Help! Park City, UT - delayed planning for hotel too long....

So DH and I delayed our Park City planning too long and are finding the pickings for lodging are pretty slim. Any hidden gems or suggestions? Naturally this is over New Years, so we picked the worst travel time of all to be slackers....

We are on a budget, but at this point we have some pricing flexibility- prefer not to be above 500 /night....

Maybe try craigslist (vacation rentals) or vrbo.com? On vrbo.com you can put in a search for specific availability dates so that can help narrow your search.

New park hotel/resort is wonderful!!! Stayed there past 2 years in a row. Everything new and clean- indoor pool and hot tubs on the balconies. Only catch is it's in New Park a ten or 15 minute drive from slopes and downtown Park City. However, the hotel itself is within walking distance to a Whole Foods, another supermarket, a huge movie theater and about 10-20 restaurants . We are trying Europe this winter and will sure miss the New Park!!

Thanks PP - will check out New Park. Right now we are between Marriott Summit Watch and Canyons Grand Summit, but this looks much better. I don't know that the drive would be an issue for us - seems like that is such a small catch b/c the savings appear to be huge vs. what the current alternatives are.

OP, where are you skiing in Europe? (We're a little Utah'd out)

We stayed in the Town Lift Condos one spring break and it was great. They are right on the main street of Park City and only a block away from the ski lift. We found it on VRBO.com

21:03 here again- if you are thinking of staying at the Canyons- new park only adds another 5-7 minutes to your park city/ deer valley commute. In response to 08:52- after 3 consecutive years we were getting Utah'd out too- we will try Zermatt this year. It's going to be ALOT more effort but it looks amazing and I guess bits good to try somethibg new.
