College at best |
Come over to NVA MLS Next first year creaming local mls teams |
. Four days a week in an academy that doesn't really care about your son's development, has no money, weak leadership, no accountability and no vision AND this same academy is now in charge of your son's education!? No way. |
Maybe college. And probably not top tier D1 and probably not full scholarships. Top tier D1 schools give most of their soccer scholarships to European players because there are just more players that have played at a much higher level for longer periods of time. These are kids that were on a pro path at top academies and just didn't make it for whatever reason... that player is FAR FAR better than kids that grew up in the US system and this is known. Why you see kids from Bundesliga and Serie A academies on Maryland's current roster for instance. They have money for sure. The kids from local teams likely have very little or no money. Just a spot. Chances of getting money as an American at a top tier D1 program are very slim. Those players coming from local clubs are primarily using soccer as a resume builder to increase their chances of getting into the college of their choice. That's it. Nothing wrong with that but call a spade a spade. |
Parents are in charge of their kids education. Does everyone in public and private schools leave with the same grades and attend same level colleges and end up in same level careers? What does Bethesda, SYC, Achilles, Alexandria, Baltimore Armor do better than DC? |
Parents make choices as to what education path their kids take for sure. But once the path is chosen, the school is spending more time with their kids than they are. With your logic the specific school doesn't matter and it does. No everyone doesn't receive same grades, colleges or careers. But better schools give the kids better opportunities for better results in all of those things. Just like soccer. Local clubs and MLS academies aren't the same so it isn't a fair comparison. One is free and the others are pay to play. That alone puts them on different footing. If DCU is comparing itself it local clubs, that is half the problem right there. The standard is too low. |
| Any knowledge as to why Zaden Bediako from VDA bypassed DCU for NE Revolution? |
Yes. |
Your kids must be in boarding school if they have more time with your kids than you do Better schools don't give better opportunities. Your performance in school and your network/connections does Don't see where DCU is comparing itself to local clubs |
I don't know the player, but it brings up an interesting data point. We all know several players from this area have gone to academies outside of the region. Some of them are players that received offers from DCU and chose to go elsewhere, some are not. Are there any players at DCU Academy from other regions? Has anyone chosen DC over another academy? |
Dude...you are talking to yourself after replying to your own post. You have a problem...calm down. |
so you don't have an answer, clearly. I didn't answer my own question. I was merely stating I didn't know the player someone else mentioned. Their question, about the player, (I'm repeating so you understand) brought up a larger point. |
Did DCU not want him or did he not want DCU? |
He seriously needs a therapist, a shrink and a psychologist Completely unhealthy obsession with these young boys and their parents |
so two people misread the post? Or are you replying to your own? |
