Where to retake Cogat/NNAT test outside the Fairfax public shool?

Anonymous

Hi,

Any one know where our son, a 3rd grader, could retake Cogat test and NNAT outside his school?

I learned George Mason administers some tests.

Any other place e.g university, clinic that would also offer these tests>

Thanks.

Testing
In order to be considered for full-time AAP (Level IV) placement, students must have results from at least one ability test (using the most recent form/edition) on the following approved list:

Group Tests
Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT)
Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT)

Individually Administered Tests
Cognitive Assessment System (CAS)
Differential Ability Scale (DAS)
Kaufman Assessment Battery
Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC IV)

Only group ability test results from George Mason University (GMU), FCPS, and/or other school districts will be accepted. Individual intelligence assessments administered by private psychologists will also be accepted if conducted by a state-licensed psychologist and the report is accompanied by a copy of the license. Test results need to be in standard age format as well as percentage(s).

Parents or guardians of FCPS students may request one retest in grades 2 through 7 during the regularly
scheduled CogAT/NNAT fall testing cycle. Additional testing is available at GMU by calling 703-993-4200 or by
visiting their web site at http://cap.gmu.edu/. .

The local school mails the results of tests administered by FCPS to parents or guardians.

Thanks for your info.

Checked the GMU GT website. They offers group tests for Cogat and NNAT but not Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT).

Do you know any place in Northern Virginia that will administer this OLSAT test? Just to explore other option of tests
that my son could take.

Regards.

The OLSAT is a Group Test and -- for consideration for Level IV placement -- would need to be performed at George Mason University (GMU), FCPS, and/or another school district.

If you just want it for your own personal use, I am guessing you could contact other area colleges and/or universities and check the psychology programs. I'm sure graduate students/externs seek testing candidates in order to practice.

My child's 2 other school districts administered the OSLAY, I assume due to budget constraints. My understanding of this test is that it is less accurate at the upper levels as it has a ceiling of 150.
