We are planning to buy a house before DD joins kindergarten(2012). Two houses that we narrowed down to belong to these two school boundaries
1.Floris/Carson/SouthLakes 2.Navy/Franklin/Oakton I personally prefer Floris because if DD ever gets into AAP, we dont have to change schools. At the same time , if we do buy this house..then we know that we might have to move to another house by the time she gets to high school if it does not get rezoned back to Westfield where it was till a couple of years ago. And the place we currently live in belongs to Floris, and DD already has a couple of friends in the neighborhood and I keep seeing how people really want to move into the Floris area. So I'm wondering if I should be moving out. If we go to the Navy, then I know HunterWoods is the AAP center which might be good. But I dont know how hard it is for kids to leave their friends and go to a different school, I get anxious thinking about it...but my DD may not care. Who knows? Just generally want to know opinions...about if going with Floris is better with the option of moving again during high school time. Or going with Navy and finally to Oakton. |
| I'd go with the Oakton pyramid. |
| Is there an option to plan to pupil place out of South Lakes due to the IB program? |
| Go with the house you like the best. Both elementary and middle schools are top-notch. Lots of people on this board are anti-SLHS, but it really isn't a bad school. Plus, I see the test scores rising given the current redistricting. And, your daughter hasn't even started K yet. Who knows how either HS will be in 10 years. |
100% agreed. |
