Anyone know where I find out this info? |
The Rosemary Hills section of Silver Spring feeds into BCC. So if you find a house zoned for Rosemary Hills ES, then it is also zoned for BCC. Also, Rock Creek Forest ES - although I don't know if that is technically part of Silver Spring or Chevy Chase (or maybe both?). The MCPS web site has a school assignment locator you can use to check addresses of homes you are considering. |
6 elementary schools in BCC cluster -- Rock Creek Forest, Chevy Chase Elementary, North Chevy Chase Elementary, Westbrook Elem., Somerset Elem. and Bethesda Elem. (Although for Bethesda Elementary, I believe the articulation pattern has recently changed for entering K kids -- some used to go to Pyle/Whitman, now I think that area has been redistricted to Bradley Hills and remaining kids in Bethesda Elementary will all go to Westland)
Neighborhoods are Chevy Chase, inner Bethesda, Rollingwood, Somerset, Friendship Heights, the area off most of Western Avenue down to Mass Ave., I think, parts of Kensington (on the E. side near to the Beltway), and the area between Beach Drive and 16th Street north and south of East West Hwy (called Rock Creek Forest or Silver Spring). But, these are rough areas, you MUST check the MCPS school locator on their website to be sure |
I was thinking "those are nice areas, not rough ones" but then I realized you meant approximate. ![]() |
Are you trying to find out where the spanish and black kids come from? |
There are not many, if any, Spaniards in the area in question. There may be some Latin Americans living in the area, however. |
I live in Chevy Chase in Rock Creek Forest. Rock Creek Forest is in Chevy Chase, except for the condos which are in Silver Spring but the BCC cluster. |
Ooops! Sorry, you are right. I meant those are approximate areas, not "rough" in terms of social climate, etc. I visited many of these schools before we moved into the cluster and they are definitely not "rough" by any stretch of the imagination! |
