Facebook has hijacked my 20 year reunion!

I think no one is truly motivated due to how easy it is to connect through Facebook! Has this happened to any other people out there?

Interesting point. We have very low response numbers for our upcoming 25th.

Yes, this happened to me last year. I was on the fence about going and felt like I had already "caught up" with those I wanted to - and many I really didn't need to = on FB. So, I didn't go, don't think I missed a thing....and got caught up when the pics showed up on FB! Saved about $1200 not going too.

ITA, FWIW. It's as if you are already in touch with those you care to be in touch with. Otherwise, whatever.

We were the exact opposite - Facebook was what sparked interest. We made a class page and people started posting old photos and sharing stories. We had 5x the participation rate of the previous year's class.

I have spent the last 20 years trying to forget these people!!

We were the opposite as well. The 20th reunion had a large showing and part of that was because how easy it was to find people through other people and get the word out. Even though I wasn't able to attend, I was able to reconnect with several HS friends through FB.
