Public elementary schools in Arlington and Alexandria

Hello,

We are relatively new to the area and I was wondering if somebody could tell me about the public elementary schools in Arlington and Alexandria?

Are there any good ones that are close to the metro?

Are you interested from the perspective of sending your children to the school or from the perspective of working at the school (since metro accessible seems to be part of the issue.)

The closest school to the metro in Arlington would be Key which is an Spanish immersion school. It is close to Courthouse metro. Glebe and Barrett in Arlington are relatively close to Ballston. All of the elementary schools in N. Arlington would be considered "good". Some have more diverse populations than others - I would say those closer to metro would be on the more diverse side, simply because there are more apartments/condos near metro and therefore more immigrant families. Can't speak about Alexandria.
