Back to School Night

So we had Back to School Night at my son's elementary school tonight. It just reminded me that while most parents are completely normal, there are some serious whackjobs out there. One dad was ticked off that there wasn't a Science SOL this year in 4th grade, but that there was one for Social Studies. He even said that Social Studies was useless and a waste of time. Really?

Another parent was 'concerned' that the class wasn't going to be split up for Math, so that the uber-uber advanced kids (This is an AAP class already) would get some sort of special instruction. You know, people like that always make me wonder if their kids would even BE in that super special group if it existed.

Ugh. Everyone had perfectly normal questions, thank goodness.

Anyway, any other Back to School Nights? I always enjoy it in a strange way, because I love to see the classroom and really, it is one of the only opportunities to meet some of the other parents!

Nah, mine last night was pretty tame compared to yours. No outbursts or crazy requests.

Maybe the one tonight will be more exciting?
