9/11 conspiracy theory- there seems to be some merit

Anonymous
9/11 conspiracy theory that it was an inside job- mostly- Cheney. I'm a republican but he doesn't strike me as giving a crap about anyone but himself..
http://911research.wtc7.net/disinfo/alibis/cheney.html

In addition- he did some unusual actions listed below that would male 9/11 even harder- like simulating airplanes going into WTC and took out the east coast reserve fighter airplanes to alaska for a test.. If you read more and believing that certain things don't make sense- the chenney theory if you read more makes sense. I am incensed that my own government would do this.

Sure you are a Republican. I am sure that you can find a local Truther group to join so that you can all share your whacked out views. Maybe group therapy?

Nutter.

OP here- as you think I'm nutters- there are many that think you haven't tried to even contemplate what could be a "truth"- You're an example of a lemming.. at least wonder a bit- not just ridicule postings..

Yes. Of course I am a lemming because I don't agree with your insanity. Poor me.

You are still a nutter.

Whatever he is, he's not a liberal. We don't get many conspiracy theorists because conspiracy theorists do not trust the government.

Ok I'll indulge you. Here's why these conspiracy theories lack merit:

1. For the ones that claim some government did it. Since when is the government able to pull any major project off properly? I'm trying to imagine 100 GS-12's in short-sleeve shirts and bad ties sitting around a conference table. Even getting Osama by sending in the most elite Navy seals, and they still managed to crash a helicopter during the process.

2. If there was a conspiracy, why are none of the people involved talking? I don't mean one of the "leaders" but rather a lower-level person who had knowledge of it. They'd surely get a multi-million dollar book deal out of it, so the incentive to come forward is high.

3. The insurance companies lost billions on the WTC collapse. They have a huge incentive to show this was planned by some government so they can get out of paying out on the claim.

4. WTC7. The conspiracy theorists like to say this one wasn't targeted so why did it fall down. Exactly. If this whole job was planned by some government, then why involve WTC7 at all? It has not additional benefit (WTC1 and 2 were bad enough).

1. LOL! So true.

2. the killed all the lower level people

3. the govt paid the insurance company more to keep them quiet

4. coincidence that it fell

Ok seriously, no I don't think the govt planned it. I do enjoy reading the conspiracy theories though

This doesn't have much merit either. Try telling a secret this big to even 5 people and getting all 5 to keep their trap shut. A project of this size would require hundreds (or thousands if it's the US government).

Spoken like a true Fed...no it could have been accomplished with a handful of people knowing the truth - every one else knew whatever rhetoric their leader/manager/person in charge/ wanted them to know...

I have started to research this a bit and am not convinced it is but am wondering if it was.. And- I am a stark conservative- so there goes THAT theory that I'm anti government... but for what I'm reading it does make me wonder... the owner of the twin towers had a dr appt but was always at the top restaurant- his two kids were ":somehow running late".. if you read about the laughing arabs who set up the videotaping before and high fived afterwards- and were no arrested, the puts on American Airlines and United Airlines stock the days before (no other- unusual but not investigated) .. just too many open questions that the 9/11 commission did not pursue.. it sucks to think our government is that corrupt but i am wondering..

I really wish we could stop with this crap. I was there, by Lafayette Park, not moving in traffic in my convertible with the top down when the Secret Service guy started screaming at me and begging me to please leave my car and just get away as fast as I could. That was before Flight 93 hit the ground. I was there when you couldn't get within blocks of the White House because everyone had to show ID and prove where they worked before you could enter the area, and I still remember begging the Secret Service guy to hurry up so I could get on my conference call with my client in NY, who lost hundreds of people the day before. I was on the calls with those same people when we had to stop the meetings so they could stand at the windows and watch the heavy equipment go down Broadway. These are small things. My experience that day, or the day a few weeks later I stood in front of Ground Zero at dawn, is nothing. Especially when I think of my college friend whose husband's name was read out yesterday in New York, or the friend here in town whose husband was on the fourth floor of the WTC when the plane hit but got out. We found all our people in NY. We helped make calls and tracked people down, and all of our people were accounted for. Our searchees all had happy endings, unlike all those people who walked the streets of NY with posters and searched the hospitals fruitlessly. My experience is tanegential, cursory, from afar. I am not qualified to speak on this. One thing I do know, though, is that our government did not do this. Please stop the crap. It disrespects the dead. It disrespects those who died that day, thought they would die, or who spent that night and the many nights after sobbing instead of sleeping as they tried to wrap their heads around the loss of 3,000 people in their home city and in the city they love. It isn't funny. It isn't cute. It isn't clever. All these theories do is further divide and destroy this country. We do not need any more of that.

I am not saying it didn't happen- that is super clear- it's more that WHO made this happen and how. I am so sorry for any suffering and losses on your part. That is not my point at all (to detract from any loss).
