This is hard to describe but is the strongest sensation I have had while pregnant. A few times today while sitting down and once very strongly while standing (I had to lean over a table) I have feel pressure, not really on my pelvis or my cervix, but coming down on my butt/tailbone. What is that?! I am 37.5 weeks. |
Your db might be head down but "sunny side up" (face turned toward your front rather than toward your rear). Also could be contractions if they are episodic or rhythmic.
Try getting on your hands and knees, letting your belly hang free and swaying back and forth gently. If that helps, then do it as frequently as you care to (it can sometimes encourage babies to reposition - which, if your db is front facing, would be good because "back labor" can be very difficult). |
OP here, I think PP's advice is excellent but in my case I can feel the baby's spine clearly along the side of my front. The baby seems to prefer being Left Occiput Anterior. |
The pain has continued but less strong and less frequently. I have seen my OB once since then but the practice doesn't do internal exams at this stage without a reason (and I didn't request one) so I don't know if I am dilated or more dilated than I was before or what have you. I am still pregnant, that's for sure! The baby is gradually getting lower, I think. I was expecting "dropping" to be an event but I would say this is a gradual moving down. |
