Hello all... I am moving to Alexandria and have been lurking reading posts about child care. I have read a few blurbs about the infant toddler program in Northern Virginia. I checked out the website. I am still a little unclear. Is this like a nanny agency, but for in home day care? If you have used this or know anything about it, I'd appreciate some insight. Thanks a bunch! |
Hi - I was just talking to another mom about this because she called me to chat about my son's home daycare, which has openings (I'm posting separately in this section). She had used infant toddler in the past and was happy with it. It's kind of like a home daycare referral service, but presumably they take a cut of the daycare provider's income because the parent's pay the daycare fees to infant toddler, and then infant toddler pays the provider. Knowing what I know about nannies and home daycare provider's general income range (yes, daycare costs are high but still a very modest income), I find this to be a little troubling. Hope that is helpful information! Good luck! |
I live in Alexandria too and currently use the infant toddler program for my 6 month old daughter. It's a organization of in-home providers who receive support and further training. You are given a list of providers near you and then you interview them. Hours and days are set by each individual provider. There's also backup providers in case your provider is ill. I moved to the area recently and felt more comfortable going through this than finding a random in-home provider. I am very happy with my provider and the program thus far. |
Hi,
I have my son is with one of their providers. Infants and toddlers is a good thing. Their providers only take care of five kids at the most, and in order to be their provider you have to take classes and training hours. I am happy but also I miss my son a lot, so I am working to become one of their providers son I know about them. Before working with their providers, My son had two daycares providers, and the best so far was the provider from Infant and Toddlers. However, the best provider is going to be your care. Good look, Nelly, |
