i've known several APS families using Kumon - one started at 4, the other two at 5-ish & 7, but i secretly believe they're doing it to get the kids a leg up.
if you have older kids and use/d additional math resource, when did you see the real need to supplement it? in other words, when did you feel that what they're getting at school is not enough/sufficient? personally i think all kids could spend more time on math, but i understand schools have its limits. |

Define "need."
My oldest (11) loves math, and we have considered signing up for some of the CTY courses online, but we haven't yet. Thus far, APS has managed to keep math sufficiently challenging that I'm not worried. |

my 1st grader took home math work sheet where on one he had to write numbers "0" and "1" 10 times and the other count the number of objects and write down "2", "3", "4." |
And it was like that the whole year? Or there were a couple of boring worksheets the first week of school and you've decided to overreact? |
simply asking a question to those who had considered this. you're the one over-reacting to my posts. |
