| I think we have a mouse in our house. Worse still it's in a bedroom. DH's first port of call is a glue trap(he's not buying into the humane trap he wants it dead). He think it's a waste of money having an exterminator come out and can "check it out himself". |
| Any good exterminator will tell you the same thing. The best they can do for you is offer traps/poison. We have an exterminator that come quarterly (crickets) and he told us that mice can get thru almost any opening (think of the space under your door) and the trick is to trap the ones you see and make your place inhospitable to the ones that may visit - no food lying around etc. |
| The glue trap is the worst! It is not humane at all -- it is a slow and painful death. Go with a regular trap. |
| Why don't you pick up your phone and ask. Or look on exterminator website and see. |
| Great, so your DH is both cheap and inhumane. Lovely. |
| i can lend you a good cat-mouser. It might not be humane but it is natural. and probably organic. |
A cat would be faster and more humane. |
No kidding. I didn't give my husband a choice - we trap humanely. Glue traps should be outlawed, and in some places they are. Outrageously inhumane! |

You can do it yourself. Go through every room and find every place something could enter - under doors, cracks in baseboards, etc - I think the rule is that if it's bigger than a nickel a mouse can fit through it. Take steel wool and plug up the holes as you go. Check openings around pipes and whatnot in your utility room they like to travel through walls - so if there is flexible tubing coming out of a hole in the wall, the mouse could come in through the gap between the tubing and the edges of the hole the tubing is coming through.
If it's just one mouse it might have just run in randomly so I wouldn't go around stuffing holes with steel wool just yet. Your husband sounds like a fraidy cat. Humane traps, or at least regular trap that will kill them quickly. |
| Lots of times cats will play with their prey and torture it before killing it. Spare me the humane nonsense. |
| Wow, if your concern for a mouse extended to human I think that we would all be living in a much better world. Its a mouse people, a mouse. |
