I am not that person but I sub a can of pumpkin for oil and eggs with devils food cake mix and spice cake mix (I make muffins with both) and it's yummy, you would never know. Assuming it's the same process, just add the pumpkin and a bit of water and you are good to go.

NP here and I do this too. Use a can of Libby's pumpkin instead of oil & eggs in any recipe. Don't add water- the batter will be thick but it will turn out amazing and you won't taste pumpkin.

For one box cake mix I use one can pumpkin.
