School Supplies-what to do?

Anonymous
Do you drop off school supplies the 1st day or at back to school night?
Anonymous
They definitely need them before back to school night...but it's usually a lot to carry the first day.

I send them in over the first 2 or 3 days.

We dropped ours off at the open house last week.

You're asking now? Bring them tomorrow.

Next year, do what we did (if your school PTA offers is), and order your next year school supplies at the end of THIS school year... And the supplies will be delivered to your child's classroom by the "meet the teacher" day before school starts.

The first couple of years my kids were in school, I resisted this as school supply shopping was somewhat of a right of passage, but then I realized it's a lot more time-cost effective to write one check to the PTA and it's done! (Of course, we'll still buy a few select things here and there for the kids.) Plus, even in the older elem grades, a lot of the supplies are communal...

Half the supplies we bought last year came back in a bag at the end of the year - unused. Now I take these lists with a grain of salt.

This list is the most disgusting space for people to just be rude and mean to each other. It is truly repulsive.
I had the same question about school supplies. If you haven't been in this school district before, it may actually be something you are not sure how to deal with. I brought the supplies to the open house, but left them in the car when we saw all the other families going in empty handed. I asked the teacher if I should bring them in, and she indicated she would much rather the first day of school because the room wasn't fully set up yet. It was way too much for my daughter to carry, and I certainly didn't want to show up at the school during the first day. I was going to drop it off at the office, but actually sending it in over the next few days sounds like a good idea too.
Why can't people just answer the question without being total jerks about it? Don't you feel bad after you write something rude????

I don't understand what you have interpreted as being so rude as to call it "repulsive." You must be new to this board.

Wow, overthink much?

most people clearly said they brought it to the open house last week (as did we). I've seen rudeness around here from time to time, but the responses to this thread were mainly helpful and on point.
