According to this article from today, the number is HALF in the US.

So much for the idea that socialism/liberalism = mental illness. Based on the numbers, conservatism is the better fit.

I haven't looked at this closely, but if you're diagnosing 40-50% of populations as ill, don't you have to start adjusting your definitions? What are they going to do if the numbers significantly pass 50% in the future - say that malfunction is the norm?

At these percentages, don't we also have to assume that a significant portion of the definers and the testers are themselves mentally ill? Is the ultimate outcome that there will be one person informing everyone else that we're all in need of medication?

Yes, it is totally ridiculous, as is this European article. Basically we are diagnosing unhappiness as mental illness. But I just thought it funny that the OP thinks that the Europe article is a vindication of his political preferences, when his own "Center Right" country has it even worse.
