| I've officially become my grandmother, only my age spots are not on my hands, they are all over my face. Right now I use cover up, but it's not doing a terrific job. Anything natural I can do to tone them down or anything? |
| Use sunscreen everyday even when you don't plan on going outside. And avoid the sun as much as you can. |
| This is the OP. Can you suggest a sunscreen that doesnot clog pores? there are so many out there. I have no idea which to use on my face (which ones actually work). I did all this research on what would be best for my kids and made my best educated decision about which to have them use, and I can't seem to do that for myself. |
Here is a non-comedogenic one from Neutrogena
* Hypoallergenic * Fragrance-free * Waterproof, sweatproof * Won't clog pores or cause breakouts * Oil-free, PABA-free http://www.neutrogena.com/product/pure+-+free-+liquid+daily+sunblock+spf+50%C2%A0.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=Search This one doesn't say it doesn't clog pores but it is oil-free
* #1 Dermatologist Recommended Suncare * Fragrance-free, oil-free * Waterproof, sweatproof * PABA-free, hypoallergenic http://www.neutrogena.com/product/sensitive+skin+sunblock+lotion+spf+60-.do?sortby=ourPicks You can also look at La Roche Posay or Shiseido lines but I think most of the better ones are chemical sunscreens. There's also good advice on http://www.makeupalley.com/ |
| My Neutrogena foundation has 45 SPF. |
| IPL facials will diminish age spots with 2 or more treatments. TCA peel will help with lines and age spots. Retina A is also recommended for age spots. I've had 4 IPL facials, and my age spots have faded and disappeared. Expensive but well worth the money. |
How much did you pay? |
| They have groupons for IPL quite often. You can save a lot. |
| Dr. Tamjidi is a great dermatologist - my mother swears by her. She freezes them off my mother. |

I use Devita International Solar Stabilizer, a moisturizer with SPF, because I break out so easily. This sunscreen has really worked for me. The active ingredient is zinc oxide, but it doesn't make me look paler.
Go to http://breakingnews.ewg.org/2011sunscreen/ to find sunscreens that use as few toxic ingredients as possible. I used to use Eucerin SPF with moisturizer until I saw how badly rated it was. |

I buy this product at Nordstrom. Worth every penny. Also, if you have fair skin or tend to freckle, you'll need to absolutely limit your time in the sun.
Hard to do, but it makes a lot of difference as you age. http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=62303/UV_PLUS_Protective_Day_Screen_SPF_40/Clarins/Sunscreen |
| I agree about the IPL and Groupons. I'm going through the process now. My dermatologist also recommended I use Aveeno Positively Radiant suncreen SPF 30. I also have roscea. It took me a while to get used to facial sunscreen. I've yet to use a product that didn't feel heavier than what I was accustomed to. |
