Q for Jeff - ignore function?

I've seen an ignore function on boards. Is that possible, without usernames? If so, is it possible for you to enable it for us here?

I would love to have that capability - and some might like it for me, of course.

You want to be able to pinpoint certain people without usernames to ignore? I'm obviously not Jeff, but I imagine, that Jeff would be the only one with that capability..

I thought it might be possible to tie it to IP address instead of username, but I'm ignorant of these things.

Please post this sort of question in "Website Feedback" to ensure that I notice it. But, to answer your question, using IP addresses to track users in not very accurate. Many enterprises uses proxy servers. In such cases, the entire staff -- which may be in the thousands -- shows up as a single IP.

Since the vast majority of our users post anonymously, there is no good way to implement an ignore function.
