Obama's speech on job growth

Anonymous
He's given speeches on job growth 6 times before. He's laid out all his plans, and nothing has worked. Soo what new things are going to hear next week? Knowing him, it'll be the same old speech, bash business and executives and fat cats while asking them to hire more even though they know higher taxes and more onerous regulation is coming from his administration. He'll chastise the wealthiest Americans for not "paying their share" then expect them to hold up the economy and spend. He'll insult Republicans and then talk about bipartisanship. He'll blame Bush for everything, because even though he's been president for almost a full term nothing is his fault. The bloom is off the rose, it's obvious that this is a failed presidency. Even Jimmy Carter looked like he gave a crap, this guy just wants to look good behind the mic. He'll do so very eloquently but now I think the American people just want him to move on. We tried it with a guy with no experience in the real world, no business and economic sense and it's time to get on with someone else.

I wish the republicans were going to do something different. All they promise is hard times.

You can say "failed" as much as you like, but the fact is that we have had 10 years of tax cut stimulus, and it got us nothing.

Just to remind the audience, here is what the great thinkers of conservatism promised: http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=4352

BTW you will note in there how even conservatives know that tax cuts don't fix anything in the short term. So why do Republicans push more tax "stimulus" today? The answer is simple: They want lower taxes, and they don't care how they get it. Problem is, they also want medicare and social security, and a few trillion dollar wars, too. At least Ron Paul is intellectually consistent, but the rest of them are charlatans.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohmigod you're so boring. It's the same f-in post over and over again.

We get it. You think he stinks. So do I, for different reasons. That doesn't mean I post the same 10-sentence rant every other day (with no goddam paragraph breaks, either).

What you KNOW is good for about one month. Then it's on to the next thing you KNOW.

Who is your candidate this week, and will he be sticking around long enough for you to put HIS name on a bumper sticker? Probably not.

Really? U cannot blame him for everything... this is an impossible situation he inherited, and he cannot fix thingsas we would like, esp w/ GOP staning in his way as much as possible.

He has been in office since Jan. 2009 and this excuse no longer flies. It can't be said this his leadership has been poor because that would indicate that he has provided leadership. I have never voted for a Republican but I will in 2012 to get Obama out of office. He has been a disaster akin to hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes and there is no FEMA to help out.

He inherited a AAA rated country with and economy so strong he felt totally comfortable wasting an entire year on divisive and partisan Obamacare.

This is what he inherited, according to his predecessor. Note the use of the words "imminent collapse".

And of course his Ace Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson. My favorite quotes:

“We have in many ways humiliated ourselves as a nation with some of the problems that have taken place here”
“[W]e had no choice but to fly by the seat of our pants, making it up as we went along"
What if the system collapses?' I asked [my wife]. 'Everybody is looking to me, and I don't have the answer. I am really scared."

Very confidence inspiring.

Uh, he passed the biggest stimulus package the Republicants would allow. Maybe you have forgotten your recent history, but the Congressional Record and the rest of us have not. Oh yeah I forgot he is supposed to put on a cheerleader outfit and tell everyone that the economy is OK and then collectively everyone will believe it and it will become true. No wait, that's how we got into this mess to begin with.

A timeline of Hank Paulson Cheerleading:

April 20, 2007 — “I don’t see (subprime mortgage market troubles) imposing a serious problem. I think it’s going to be largely contained.”

July 26, 2007 — “I don't think it [the subprime mess] poses any threat to the overall economy.”

November 29, 2007 — “While the difficulties in housing and credit markets and the effects of high energy prices will extract a penalty from growth, the US economy has many strengths, and I expect the expansion to continue,”

December 7, 2007 - “The US banking system is well-capitalized and ‘we have a strong deposit insurance system that provides good coverage for the savings of hard-working Americans.’”

March 16, 2008 — “I have great, great confidence in our capital markets and in our financial institutions. Our financial institutions, banks and investment banks, are strong. Our capital markets are resilient. They’re efficient. They’re flexible.”

May 16, 2008 — “Looking forward, I expect that financial markets will be driven less by the recent turmoil and more by broader economic conditions and, specifically, by the recovery of the housing sector.”

July 20, 2008 — “It’s a safe banking system, a sound banking system. Our regulators are on top of it. This is a very manageable situation.”

Love the last one. HAHAHAHAHAHA
