| What are the cute brown lace up shoes that I see the younger girls wearing and where do you get them? Thanks |
| I'm not a Stone Ridge mom, but I'm guessing you're talking about Sperries . . . or what we called Topsiders when I went to a Sacred Heart school in San Francisco back in the late '70s. My kids' school doesn't require uniforms, but when I see their friends from schools that do -- e.g., Bullis -- the footwear of choice for girls these days does seem to be Sperries. They're actually having a bit of a resurgence outside of independent school circles as well -- JCrew featured them in their summer catalogs. |
| No, they're not the topsiders, its some kind of Oxford style shoe. |
| are they the ones kids wore in the 80s with the yellow cord laces? |
| Bucks? by Bass |
| I see oxford shoes on the little girls and the old time sperries on all the high schoolers. CUTE! |
But what oxfords? Where do you get them and what style? |
I don't know how to post a picture but search "Sperry Topsider Tevin Oxford." Nordstrom carries these. I'm sure there are other brands as well. |
| Sound like Bucks |
| I just got lands end version of top siders for my 8 year daughter for school shoes at another school with uniforms. She insisted on them. I didn't know they were a trend! |
| Wow! What is old is new again (wore those in my school days and I'm 47!) |
| Yes, Bucks! |
|
Are they Bucks or Sebagos (aka Bean Blucher moccasins)?
http://www.llbean.com/llb/search?init=1&freeText=blucher Seems Sebago doesn't make a blucher moc anymore, but Bean still does, and I think a lot of other companies do. |
| PS: we wore all of the above at SR in the 80s and 90s. |
| Oh my. I'm 33 and wearing my Sperry topsiders right now. Maybe I should consider updating my look... |
