I'm hoping to go the simple, and mostly organic route (no themes, etc) with clothes, decor, etc. Many of my family/friends will be being buying online and shipping to me but I like the idea of being able to exchange in person and not have to mail it back. Target is out because of its return policy. I know a lot of people like Buy Buy Baby but it still seems overwhelming and scary to me as an expectant mom I remember how intimidating it was to go somewhere like that to buy a baby gift (and lots of people like to buy the cute stuff in person). So, I guess I'm looking for somewhere that you can get nice, simple, organic options as well as the other basics. Was thinking a boutique and a big box store? |

Same here...babystyle and buy buy baby for essentials. |
Daisy Baby in Bethesda has an eco registry with good stuff: www.shopdaisybaby.com. |
Great Beginnings (www.greatbeginnings.net) also sells oganic cotton clothes and has all of the basics a new mom/baby would need. Their sales people are also very knowledgable - they spent a ton of time with me when I was putting together the registry for dd #1. Not everything is available online, though, so I found it helpful to actually go into their gaithersburg store. |
Thanks everyone! I'm thinking of doing Baby Style and Great Beginings.
I love Daisy Baby - I think we'll do that for our crib and stroller as they spent so long with us walking us through the options. |
I would also strongly endorse Great Beginnings (GB) in Gaithersburg. Quite simply, they are fabulous, from lay out of store-very comfortable, large, spread out, to selection, to amazing sales people. They are wonderful, they will not try to sell you the most expensive item and will listen to your needs/concerns and then give you good advice. Also, huge selection of cribs, furniture, gliders etc...
I had registered at buybuybaby before discovering this store, now, I wished I had gone immediately to GB. |
