| I have a 1 and 3 year-old. Do they need passports for a trip to Cancun and if so, where do we get these? Thank you. |

You will need passports.
You can apply at most post offices. You will need their birth certificates, and either both you and your spouse will have to go together to apply or your spouse will have to notarize a form allowing you to apply on your own. |
| There have been several posts on this topic in the listserv, i suggest doing a search. The answer is yes, you can download the form from the state department website. You will need a picture, the form, the birth certificates, pay the fee, the both parents (if only one goes, you will need another form) and the child need to go in person to one of the approved post offices (that info can also be found on the state department website). I went to the one in Crystal City, brought my own picture, and the entire thing took 5 minutes to complete. I paid the expediated fee and got the passport in a week. |
| i got my 6 week old a passport at the post office at Merrifield VA. It came back to me witing a month, so it was a pretty quick turn around. |
