Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
I'm going to a friend's house this weekend and the only requirement is to bring a meal. I like to have it prepped ahead of time so I'm just popping it into the oven that evening, and I bring a cooler for the 2 hour drive. My usual recipes are getting stale! Anyone have a suggestions that isn't lasagna, baked ziti, or a chicken casserole? And we did tacos last time otherwise I'd be going with that option. Thanks!
I'm an old fashioned kinda girl so I'd suggest you take a roasted chicken with veggies or depending on how many you have to feed so a small turkey with veggies. Or what about a different type of lasagne like a seafood lasagne or an eggplant lasagne? Or do a fancy macaroni and cheese with seafood and veggies in it.
We love the Three Cheese Spinach Orzo Bake from Six O'Clock Scramble. Here's a link to the recipe that appeared in the Post several years ago: http://projects.washingtonpost.com/recipes/2006/03/29/three-cheese-spinach-orzo-bake/printer/
Enchiladas. I make red chile ones with chicken, black beans and corn tortillas or green chile with chicken, corn, beans and flour tortillas. You can make a little fresh guac (or buy some) on the side.
