Not a mess. A luxury. |
Welcome to communication with CW 101. Class dismissed. |
Looks like Jaon's back!!! |
BRYC is actively engaging with local clubs in Manassas to establish a boy's pipeline to their ECRL team and a DP for ECNL, offering field space and EDP entry as part of the deal. This approach seems inspired by SYC, especially given that more than one-third of the players in MLS Next are from PWC and its clubs. |
It’s about time they actively recruited!! Maybe they’ll also do it for their RL teams too! |
Any club can easily register for EDP. Small clubs love it because it's a better league that doesn't require a whole slate of teams. |
Is anyone else on the boys side questioning how MYS could agree to the DOC selectee, in addition to the insanely disappointing boys coaching slate...which includes the DOC selectee? Is the MYS board that oblivious to why BRYC and now Brave failed? Seriously, let's give the top position on the boys side to the coach who has had the Brave team with the worst record for two years straight. The prospect of having him as a coach (or simply making decisions that matter) had parents and their players on the hunt for a new club in both Spring 2022 and Spring 2023. Some were even willing to play a level down. MYS and VYS have sold their souls to the devil. |
Anyone in ECNL is far more concerned about his college connections than winning state cups. State cups haven’t been relevant for over a decade. So please, spare us his NCSL accomplishments because nobody cares about them. What ECNL parents care about is what he has done at the ECNL level. So, for the record, his teams lost and ECNL put his club on probation and ultimately forced a merger or lose ECNL all together. How does any of this qualify his presence on so many teams? No on field record of success in ECNL and no record of college commitments. Yeah, McLean parents should be really excited over getting this guy forced on their kids teams. |
Is it expected that players on these teams will need so much coaching they need 2 or 3 coaches? |
Did anyone have any choices when the MYS coaches refused to play along? |
I'll give MV a season. He's never had this caliber of players at BRAVE/BRYC. No coach can make a team good if your players aren't quality vs the competition. I know MV basically has to play defensively each game and I don't think any coach prefers this way at youth. |
Unless you are absolutely desperate for college scholarships, and one of the few who actually gets real money to a good school, anybody counting on their travel coach to be the key that gets their daughter an offer is committing malpractice as a parent. If that's how you get through the door, that's also how you're going to leave. |
He’s never had the caliber because he ultimately doesn’t have what is necessary at the ECNL level. He is a small time, living in the past State Cup coach who is a coach that talent doesn’t seek out. He doesn’t have the credentials that ECNL parents look for in a coach. 1. A record of relevant ECNL success 2. A record of college community 3. A record of National Team placement He has never drawn players and he never will. In a highly competitive market with a diluted talent pool a club needs a coach with those credentials to attract players both in and outside of their geographic area. |
The coach doesn’t do the work but the coach also has relationships and trust built with college coaches over the years. When your kid emails schools and they see the club and coach name of a club and coach they trust it helps kids make an initial list to be watched at a showcase. But BRAVE/BRYC has had a total of 15 girls committed over 3 years. That’s his clubs record. If those were VYS numbers for NCSL then that is actually impressive but for a ECNL club to place only 15 players over 3 years is pathetic. |
So he was impressive on his platform but you are judging him for not having placed the same amount of girls as ECNL coaches without having the same ECNL platform? I have no idea how effective he will be in this new role and platform but you seem to be full of contradictions. |
