PVI was also on the Also Considered list. They are not a Top 25 but close.

Gonzaga shouldn't even be mentioned in this list.

A program living in the past

Thanks for your expert opinion!

It’d kinda true and based on what the eagles have coming back next spring, expect another average season for on eye street.

Gonzaga graduates a ton this year

Bullis and Gonzaga are still playing this weekend, the season is not over.

Yes, As is PVI and most of the VA Privates in the VISA. GZ and Bullis playing in the Victory Prep Nationals in Howard County on ESPN+/ESPNU Championship televised on Sunday.

And SJC and PVI don’t graduate anyone correct? You are just a biased hater.

Were the graduates any good? The season didn’t go well.

Fun for them but not the same. VISSA is a legit league teams have played in for decades the other is a showcase event like NHSLS. Teams typically do not bring seniors to summer showcases and many do not play them like spring games.

Season only went well for SJC based on your criteria for a “good season”.

Anyone watch McDonogh vs BL last night? It’s on YouTube. McDonogh won 8-7 in overtime. Curious what others thought? I was not that impressed with their speed or level of play compared to DMV top teams. Turnovers, dropped passes, fairly slow, etc. And McDonogh is suppose to be #2 in the country? Anyone else?

I watched them when they played Loyola Blakefield and thought the same thing. Georgetown Prep looks like a better team and maybe SJC also (they beat BL 10-7 and McDonough had two one goal games with them). Inside Lacrosse has McDonough #6 and Prep #7 with nearly identical ratings. Think McDonough would beat everyone else in the DMV though.

I'm the farthest you can be from being an MIAA homer, I can't stand the Baltimore biased that is constantly displayed in IL lacrosse and even US Lacrosse magazine.

With that being said, I wouldn't base your reasoning on results from early March. Just look at the college ranks, Duke looked like crap in the middle of February (lost to Jacksonville) but got hot as the season played on and ended up being the #1 seed in the big dance. I attended the BL - SJC game and while the Cadets dominated the first half, it became a very close contest in the 4th quarter.

I thought the BL - McDonogh contest was rather boring to watch and it's mainly due to how McDonogh runs their offense through Millon. McDonogh doesn't have a ton of depth, it's a rather small school.

The 2nd game between Calvert Hall and Loyola was a much more entertaining game and the pace of play was on full display. Calvert Hall has some horses in the midfield and plays at a fast clip.

The only team that has constantly shown it can put up big numbers this year on the offensive end is the Lil Hoyas. Prep has put up double-digit goals in basically all of their games this Spring and has won by wide massive margins. An 18-2 victory over Bullis is very impressive and it's not like Bullis is some rag-tag program either. Landon was a dramatically different team since when I saw them play in March, and the Hoyas took it to them last week.

How would Prep fair against McDonogh or Calvert Hall, I don't know... the season is over. But data shows, Prep has been able to score at will this season against very top-flight competition.

As it relates to SJC, the Cadet's offense was not lights out this year. A 9-5 victory over PVI a week ago supports this especially when your FOGO won 65 plus percent of the faceoffs this Spring. SJC was able to hide its offensive woes with the phenomenal goalie play in Big Tasty.

One thing that is vastly different between IAC, WCAC and MIAA teams is they tend to improve a shit ton throughout the course of the season as the MIAA is a very deep conference. SJC and Gonzaga don't get much better playing O'Connell or the Heights or Ryken or Ireton or McNamara. Every game in the MIAA A conference is basically a dogfight except for when you play John Carroll.
