Hi,
We have Comcast but it always quits providing service during times we needed most be it Huricanes or severe storms or heavy snow. We live in Kensington Maryland and have invested in a power generator so we have electricity but no internet. How is your internet service during inclement weather? would you recommend it? What are the options out there? |

Our comcast is out as well, I'm piggybacking on a neighbor's internet (with permission) but I have no who their provider is. I'll ask and post.

| FIOS |
| I have Comcast and have not lost service during any of the most recent storms, including Snowmageddon. I'm in Del Ray. |
| Smart phones. If power goes out the wireless is down, Fios only has about a 24 hour battery backup before it goes down, cable is notoriously unreliable. |
| yeah, smart phones, or clear (but if there is too much wireless traffic, as with the earthquake, you will have problems) |
fios rocks - former comcast user |
Sooooo this! |
I disagree. MY Fios internet was SLOW on a good day. Dial up slow. I agree comcast bad during any storm. But it's much faster on the other 360 days. |

We have FIOS and rarely lose service. Although when you do and you have to call, their technical support/customer service is beyond horrible.
Also cell phones - if you can tether or set up a wifi hotspot with your provider. |
| We have fios and if our power goes out, internet goes out immediately for some reason. But our phone works for several hours. |
