Deer Whistles/Alerts for Cars

Anybody have one of these or know if they really work, or not? We live in a pretty rural area and the deer population seems to be swelling already. Any advice on these devices (or others) is much appreciated.

OMG, I was just wondering about this. Today in broad daylight a deer ran out in front of my car and I stopped short, then a second deer crossed in front of us. I learned that they usually travel in pairs (or more). I was lucky there was nobody behind me because I slammed on the breaks without really thinking it through...I don't know if it's better to hit the deer (which can be dangerous) or try to stop and risk someone hitting my car from behind. Aargh. If deer whistles work I would love to get one.

No they do not work, actually I think they attract deer.


This is why we need hunting season

Yeah they work. They hear the noise but like some humans there are jerk deer who will not move.
