Trigger on Day 9 with Clomid?

Anonymous
So I just got my protocol, and I'm taking clomid from day 3-7, then u/s on Day 9, trigger that night if I'm responding well to the Clomid.

This seems early, is this normal? Does clomid speed up egg maturation that much?

What strikes me as odd is that they have a tentative trigger date set PRIOR to stating your cycle? Trigger dates aretypically determined by bloodwork/ultrasound DURING your cycle.

I always had trigger and IUI dates set in advance for the four I did at CFA (though, OP, yes, day 9 seems early to me). The dates would of course be confirmed by sono/BW on scheduled trigger day.

I am 7.19 I am at CFA. Not the case for me, pp's. Who is your doctor?

This also seems strange to me - I did my IUIs at Dominion - you should be going in for monitoring to check follicle size etc and then triggering when you reach a certain size

Oh, of course they are doing it based on u/s and bloodwork. I had Day 3 bw/us yesterday. Started the Clomid last night. Based on that, I have an u/s Day 9. I guess they are expecting enough progress to trigger, or I'll get a Gonadotropin (sp?) shot if the follicles have not progressed.

I just thought it was odd that they expected the Clomid to work that fast, I'd mostly heard of Day 12 u/s.

I told the nurse that Day 9 for trigger and 10 & 11 for IUIs seems very early, and she said "the Clomid speeds it up".

Or not, in which case they'll give me another shot.

I was just wondering if this is normal, or a protocol that anyone else has tried.

Good news--Day 1 of Clomid and no side effects.

Ah - I am wondering if your nurse is confused by insinutating you'll trigger on Day 9 when really you'll start monitoring on day 9 - I usually start monitoring day 8 and I go in every morning for a few days until it's time to trigger - I think day 9 sounds normal in that instance

No, it says trigger evening of Day 9, IUI Day 10 and 11 (I'm doing back to back because it's frozen donor sperm).

OP, I posted earlier, but I still do not understand how they can determine trigger date after a day 3 bw/us? Way too early to determine, in my experience. And I also am a patient at CFA.

PP here again. The clomid has not even begun to do it's "work" if you have only been on it for 1 day, so how can they know how fast/slow the follies will grow, when you will O, etc? This is the reason for MULTIPLE monitoring visits prior to determining the trigger date.
