S/O pizza dough

Anonymous
I am embarrassed to admit, but I am doing something wrong here and need help. I love the trader joes pizza dough, but I have tried to roll it out and it's not working. Do I really need a rolling pin for this? (I used a wine bottle which I honestly thought would work as well). I let the dough sit for a little over 20 minutes.
Did I let it sit out too long? Was it because of the rolling pin?
It would not stay flattened out, it never got bigger than maybe 6 inches in diameter.

was it cold?

no idea - maybe you got a bad batch? id also use a bit of flour to help with sticking - maybe that makes a difference?

don't think you left it out too long though

Pizza dough is pretty elastic and will spring back into its original shape. Try rolling it out a bit, then picking it up and letting the weight of the dough stretch it. Put it down, roll it in the crosswise direction, and repeat until it is the size you want.

Roll it out as much as you can, let it rest 15 min, and roll it out again.

Let it rest at room temp for 45 to 60 minutes and then kneed it before pushing it into shape.

For the Trader Joes dough I use a rolling pin and just do it cold. Use some flour and just really press it out. When the dough is cold you can make it really thin, which is fantastic on the grill. (heat up grill, put down dough on grill and close top to let cook for a few minutes. have your toppings ready, open the grill, flip the dough over and add toppings and close the top again to let it cook). amazing pizza once you get the hang of it -- you can't do the topping too thick.
