Baby Shower Etiquette Question

Anonymous
Is it tacky to list where the mom-to-be is registered on the invitation? I know this is always a no-no with wedding related events, but what about a baby shower? Thanks!

Yes, it is tacky with regards to ANY event. Registry information is passed via word of mouth if/when people ask.

The purpose of showers is to give gifts, so no, it's not tacky. Would be for any other event though.

No, it's not tacky, as a shower is meant to bring gifts. I always list it at the very bottom in smaller letters.

I have to agree here. I may be in the minority, but I don't find it tacky for shower invitations (since the purpose is gift giving), but do find it tacky when all of those little store inserts are shoved into wedding invitation envelopes.

From Emily Post: "Gift registry information should not be included on the invitation itself, though enclosing it on a separate sheet of paper is fine. Guests should always feel free to choose whatever gifts they think are best, and half the fun of giving and receiving presents is the element of surprise."
