Kilmer or Longfellow for ESOL student?

Anonymous
My DD will be arriving to the DC Area this week and entering the seventh grade.
Anyone have any experience with Kilmer or Longfellow with regards to helping ESOL students integrate.
Is the school atmosphere and culture supportive of a high achieving student with english as a second language.

I teach ESOL at Marshall which has students who come from Kilmer. I don't know a lot about the program at Kilmer, but I will say that we don't get many beginning level ESOL students coming from Kilmer - meaning they make a lot of progress while they are there before they get to us! We also have a pretty diverse student population - Arabs, Koreans, Vietnamese, Hispanic, etc. Not sure about Longfellow.

Good insight. I will be in a similar situation next year and would like to hear more feedback as well. Thanks!

For what it's worth, both schools have almost the exact same percentage of ESOL students - around 8.5%.
