Food, Cooking, and Restaurants

Looking for recommendations, and obviously these need to be places that don't require advance reservations! My kid eats anything. We'll be up around Central Park most of the weekend, so I'd prefer heading downtown.
Any ideas? |

May I just say "good for you!!" I love the idea of future dates with my son, who is just a wee thing now---same for my daughter and her dad. We've spent time at the Diner and other spots for scrambled eggs and pancakes. Can't wait to take him to a proper restaurant (of NYC for that matter!) when he's old enough to manage it. Sigh. Will you report back to us how it went? Sounds adorable. |

Thanks for your reply, PP. And thanks for the diner idea! Love my "dates" with my boy. We're very closely bonded and I hope that we'll always make time for some time one-on-one.
I'm hoping for a few more suggestions from others! |
| Does he like baseball? Mickey Mantle's is on the south end of CP. Nothing to write home about food wise, but it has all the American standards and a lot of baseball and other sporting memorabilia. My adult husband insists on eating there whenever we go to NYC. Serendipity is another possibility although it is better know for its dessert! There can be a wait. Or how about some good old NYC hole in the wall pizza. Mmmmm.... |

I took my 8 yr old nephew here and he was obsessed. |
