best place to buy trees (nova)?

Anonymous
We are looking to buy a few trees (probably Leyland Cypress, to block out our view into our neighbor's yard) and have no idea where to begin. Coming from a condo, we're new at the yard maintenance aspect of home-owning but I'm fairly certain I've heard they should be planted in the early Fall. Seems to me that Merrifield is overpriced in other things I've shopped for, so I'm assuming the same goes for trees. Anyone have any good recommendations for local nurseries or tree farms where we could buy a few decent sized trees? We would prefer to get something 4'-5' rather than 2'.

...no recommendations? Looking for smaller scale nursery than Merrifield that may have cheaper prices.

Ikea

Whole Foods

Lowes

Home Depot

Merrifield is overpriced. Meadow Farms is cheaper, and has better selection than HD or Lowe's. I've gotten trees there in the fall when they start clearing out inventory for dirt cheap. Leylands will be good choice for privacy. They grow very quickly and should do the trick.

Hmm, Ikea and Whole Foods don't seem like the place to buy large evergreens. I will give Meadows Farms a shot - a friend also recommended Stadler nursery in Bristow. We're in western Ffx Co so shouldn't be too far. Thanks all.
