General Support Group for Special Needs

Does anyone know of a local support group for parents of children with special needs? My son has a rare kidney disease and the only support groups are online (Facebook). I'd very much like to meet some other parent's face-to-face to chat about the challenges we face raising children who are chronically ill, but haven't found any resources. And the social workers at the hospital and through our doctors have been totally useless. It's like if you look put together, they don't even bother with you. BTW, I live in Arlington county. I did see the old past with all of the support in Montgomery County. Thanks!
