anyone have this? pain? side effects? results?
I bought a groupon deal for 6 treatments. The actual procedure maybe lasted 5 min each treatment for both underarms. It feels like someone is snapping you with a rubber band. I use to shave every other day...now I shave once a week. There is still hair growth, which I hope will be gone with the last treatment.

it will of course partially depend on where you go and what lasers they use.
I've had six treatments on my underarms. The pain feels roughly like a rubber band snapping you. It isn't pleasant, but I could tolerate it. After the initial treatment my skin was pink and raised, but it goes down after a couple of hours. Six treatments were not enough for me, but I don't live near my old laser treatment place so I haven't made them yet. |
If it has not worked for you, he laser is not turned up high enough. By treatment #5 and 6 it is VERY painful. THis is the laser working and causing permanant hair loss.
PP here again. I think a lot of places never turn the laser up high enough to cause the permanant hair loss, in order for you to come back again or have to do touch ups. Case in point is 20:40. I have very thick, very dark hair and I am HAIRY. My hair grows fast as well. With the high blast treatments, my skin is smooth and there is no indication that there was even hair there ever!
I dont think they do it to make you come back for touch ups...though who knows. If the laser is too high they can cause burns to your skin. I've had this done on my happy trail. It was gone until pregnancy after 5 treatments, but the hormones caused new hair growth. Its not something a laser can prevent. It can only get rid of hair that exists, so if hormones cause you to grow new hair you will need to get a touch up.
PP here... I found it a little more painful than a rubber band. Icing and topical numbing cream can help (I had to ask for the cream).
