What's the best vacation you ever went on around the holidays? Christmas/New Years time

| DH and I are thinking of going away this year for the holidays and would appreciate some suggestions. We've never gone on a trip during the holidays. We've always spent it with family so this will be a first, and we want to go somewhere great. I would love somewhere very festive. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

| We usually go skiing, although normally leave the day after Christmas. Ski resorts are very festive over the holidays. |

| Reviving this as I'm searching for myself. We will have a toddler with us (with potential to bring grandparent or nanny). We've done Carribbean the last few years and are open to similar or very different. Just need ideas! |
