Of late I seem to be drying up of breastmilk. It seems to coinside with my 6.5 month old DS sleeping through the night on a more routine basis. I continue to nurse him in the morning and at night plus pump twice at work and once before I go to bed. I have noticed a significant decline in the amount of milk I have been pumping over the last couple of weeks. Is it possible that I am drying up? I have been taking fenugreek, drink tons of water etc. but no improvement thus far. Did this happen to you?
are you pregnant?
Op here- Nope, I'm not pregnant. I have not had my period yet and my DH and I use protection.
Are you feeding DS solids? Once they start taking in more food, they decrease the amount of milk that they drink. If he is thriving and doesn't seem frustrated while nursing, I wouldn't worry.
This happened to me at 7 months when my cycle returned... apparently ovulation and menstruation can temporarily decrease milk supply. Maybe your cycle will be starting up again soon?
Hey - it is happenng to me right now. DD is 8 months old. I think it is because she eats more solids and drinks less milk. She is happy so I dont worry about it.
