| We are new to the area and my oldest will be starting preschool at a local private. I have no idea what to wear. I'm a 31 SAHM, which I mention because my day to day style is sort of casual, ala J-Crew. Ordinarily I'd wear what I'd wear to a cocktail party but since it's at a school, don't you think it would be more casual? Would jeans and heels be too casual? |
| Fishnets, stilettos, a leather mini and a bustier. That'll show 'em! |

Which school (just because some of them tend to be much dressier than others)? During the week or on the weekend? At the school or at someone's house?
Assuming it's a middle of the road school, during the week, at the school, I'd probably wear nice pants or maybe white jeans/heels, or a summer skirt or sundress. Would not do cocktail dress fancy unless maybe it was on a weekend at someone's house and it was Beauvoir or St Patricks. |

which school?
at some men will be in blazers and women in cocktail type dresses. At others men will be in khakis and polos and women in skirts. It really depends on the school's social culture. |
| A Prozac bra and a Nixon mask. |

I like the idea of a lovely summer dress, what I'd call a picnic dress. Fresh and simple. |

black slacks with reasonable shoes. something on top that is pretty ordinary but flattering.
No cocktail dress. |

Jeans and a short.
Not kidding. |
One over the other or combined in a jean short? Trying to visualize. Jean shorts seem casual for a wine and cheese. |

Where something that represents YOU. Remember her?
I would do dressy casual...whatever that means to you. For me, that would be banana republic wrap dress with kitten heels. For my best friend that would be a "vintage" 1970's flowy sundress with braided hair and a smidge of bling jewelry. |
I was going to post the same thing. Great minds think alike

| If it is at night during the week, I think a lot of folks may be coming straight from work so they will be dressed business or business casual. I wouldn't wear jeans/shorts for that reason alone. Regardless of whether it is during the week or on a weekend, I would wear a casual dress/sundress, skirt/top, or slacks/cute top. I tend to save jeans for school drop-off/pick-up and casual events that include the children kids. |
| Nice pants and top, skirt and top, or business casual style or very conservative pOrch dress with a cardigan brought along ala the first lady. Have fun, be friendly! |
This would be quite underdressed at the school my child attends. |
Is this at snobermentary? |
