S/O on the elevator thread

Go ahead and flame me too but I can't stand how someone is paid to sit in a chair and push the button for either the first or second floor at the air and space museum. The worker's chair takes up a good portion of space on the elevator and it's hard to navigate strollers and wheelchairs in and out due to the worker and their chair. I'm pretty confident that museum visitors could push the button themselves.

OP here, yes I am sure the person is paid. Another person in the elevator at the same time as me made a comment about what a great job it was and the worker said she can't even believe she's paid to sit there.

They are probably union meaning they are making more than most of us.
