Very sad. I jumped on this thread ready to defend Fox's right to speech. Then of course I found out this is probably Fox viewers attacking atheists. Sigh.

That reminds of another example of Dem caving to Rep lunacy. When people talked about the Giffords shooting in terms of gun control and - more importantly, IMO - hate-mongering, Obama was very quick to jump in and tell the left to shut up again.

Before Faux, it was completely ridiculous to suggest that this country could be dominated by some extremist group. Since Faux, we have a steady movement of pressure from Faux, retreat by Dems, then more pressure from Faux as it becomes necessary to say something more shocking. Given that they accept absolutely no responsibility for their drones, I don't see that improving until things get considerably worse, for example with several big domestic terrorist acts.

What is a good solution? A Ground Zero free from religion? Or a Ground Zero that allows religious symbols from many faiths?

No religion. I think the easy test for whether the support/allowance of religious activity is OK is, "Can the Satanists participate?" If everyone is comfortable with that, then it's a go.

I wonder if some day soon my children will have to emigrate to some place where freedom from religious persecution and separation of church and state are not just paid lip service to.
