Cedar siding addition: paint to match house or stain clear?

Our house has white wood siding.
The small addition in the back was built with cedar siding,
DH wants to stain it clear because he likes the color.
I want to paint it white to blend the addition seamlessly with the rest of the house.

Thoughts?

I would paint it. I think if the rest of your house was brick or some material different than the main house, you could keep the cedar clear. However, since your house is wood, the white wood plus the clear cedar won't look good together.
