child-friendly at Perry's Sun AM brunch?

Anonymous
A friend wants to bring her child (under 10) to brunch at Perry's on Sunday morning. I don't necessarily remember this being a child-friendly environment--not because of the drag queens but because people are putting dollars in their bras, etc. as if they are strippers. Am I over reacting?

I wouldn't -- but not b/c of the bra stuffing -- IIRC some of the drag queens use pretty salty language. There were a fair number of kids there last time I went, so apparently others feel differently.

Uh, I would not bring my child. No way. And I am one who thinks the drag brunch is a blast.

I would maybe bring my 3-year-old because she'd find it hilarious and they'd probably love her, and she wouldn't realize the performers were men, so I wouldn't have to have *that* conversation quite yet. (though the salty language might be an issue.) But I don't think I'd take a near-10-year-old unless it was a particularly sophisticated kid that wouldn't be weirded out.

No, no, no. I happen to love a good drag show, but Perry's drag brunch is quite awful. As you mentioned, it's more like a strip show, which doesn't make it appropriate for kids (and this coming from an ex stripper). Also, the decibel level is ear-damaging loud. You're not over-reacting, but your friend is trying to hard to prove something.
