We are considering the 3:1 shared risk donor egg program at Shady Grove. Can anyone tell us what their criteria is to be accepted into the shared risk program? Also, if anyone has gone through their 3:1 donor egg program and has gotten pregnant, I would love to hear about your experience either on or offline. ![]() Thanks! MH |
I am in the program right now at SG. I don't remember any special qualifications except the inability to get pregnant the old fashioned way. I am 42 and have had 4 failed IVF attempts before moving on to donor egg. If you haven't been through all the fertility testing then I believe they make you do that, but other than that there isn't any qualification that I know of. They might have issues if you have sever endo or some other issue that would prevent implantation, but I don't know for sure.
I did have my first DE cycle cancelled because I was the third on the list and my original donor did not produce enough eggs. I am now first on the priority list with a new donor and her retrival is today. It looks like we will be going to transfer on Saturday. |
If you have uterine issues (e.g. fibroids), then you may not be accepted. They will do testing (saline sono, HSG, etc) if they perceive an issue and make a decision from there. Not sure what, if any, other issues might inhibit - one thought is that you can't build an appropriate lining, which is tested in your mock cycle, but don't know if that is a real criteria or not. |
Thanks for the quick replies! Seems like we should be okay then. Cheers! |
Beware, it sounds better than it is, we did 3:1 twice and didn't end up with any viable embryos, we wasted a lot of valuable time. |
PP we are in the same boat, we did our first 3:1 cycle and transferred one less than blast on day 5 with a BFN. We don't know if the other couples did any better, but it has taken a lot out of us emotionally. It's hard to get up the enthusiasm for another cycle. |
