Kids aren't stupid. They saw his actions and heard his words.

Yeah, eight years ago. Normally kids would be able to forgive and forget and move past an unpleasant incident. In this case, they have a mother who is intent on reliving that incident for eight years and insists on portraying herself as a perpetual abuse victim.

If the courts allowed them to be with him, then he had plenty of chances to demonstrate his mature, loving, paternal self.

They lived with a mother who was bad mouthing him to them every day. She went out of her way to alienate him from the children.

So many kids today have been through very hostile breakups and divorces. It's heartbreaking. Nevertheless, kids can hear, observe, and process what's going on. Kids can see through the cr#@!p. If you're an abusive parents eith alcohol and/or drug issues, they see that, too. Kids don't change their last names just because one parent is negative about the ex.

Nowadays, the default in divorce is shared or split or 50-50 custody. Generally a parent only has sole custody when the other parent opts out. Here though, the father wanted to be a part of the children's lives but was prevented. Not by the court but by the mother. That seems difficult for you to imagine, maybe because it's so strange?

I have several divorced friends who wish they could prevent their kids from being with an irresponsible dad. Courts won't allow it. How did Angelina prevent it?

If you're referring to Pitt, he didn't hit his kids on the plane. He shook his wife by the shoulders (George Bailey did something similar but his wife didn't become a victim).

The injuries Jolie claims as abuse are from when she put him in a chokehold, and he had to defend himself and get out of her chokehold. Him defending himself against someone who had him in a chokehold is not abuse.

He pushed her before and then verbally abused them.

While you have never yelled at your kids, I have, as have many people. It happens. And it is not traumatizing.
