Recommend your vacuum

My old vacuum just broke and I am looking to buy a new one. We only have one rug on our main level and carpet in the basement. The rest of our house is hardwood/ceramic tile. We don't have any pets but do have 2 small kids. I am not looking for anything super expensive but do want something that is decent quality and will last a while. I am also looking for a bagged vaccum (not bagless). If you have a vacuum you love please let me know.

Why bagged? Bagless are so much easier.

Miehle. Love ours, though it is a pet vacuum. Second Miehle I've had (sold the first one only because I was leaving Europe and it was 240v) and they've both been great.

miehle is like a mercedes benz. great german engineering, works and runs great, but when you need to repair it is VERY expensive. mine is in the shop now and one part will cost me $250.00.

Riccar, cannister-style. Similar to a miehle, but less expensive. I think I paid 450 for mine.
